Well.. we had our own regatta.. Nettle Free Regatta.. its suppose to mean JellyFish Free... cos at this time of the year.. most places will have Jelly Fish.. while our sailing centre doesn't.. anyway.. with a Mark Improvement of attendence from last year of 1.. we had 10 more kids from SSA (Severn Sailing Association) comin down.. led by Aeron. Their kids won 1st and 2nd if i'm not wrong.. There wasn't anybody competing with the local guys for Red White Blue fleet. Shame. Some joker made of with my waterbottle.. ass.. now I need to get another one.. 2nd one I've lost.. wat a moron.. Anyway.. a storm threatened and the race was finished earlier.. only had 2 race in.. shame.. shame.. ANyway.. Eileen was shut out this morning.. pretty awesome.. She came in and ask for 2 of the best boats available over her own Inflatable.. which is the fastest.. but not the most comfortable.. and I was like.. what audacity! For her own comfort?? and her sister said right away.. But u are taking away two of our best boats!! and Steve said: "So my instructors can be uncomfortable and be thrown about instead??" Wahaha.. Everybody was just starring at her.. I almost burst out laughing...
I had Suzanna as a private student for the evening.. She's an attractive 17 year old college student at Essex Community College. Majoring in Music.. she got an Aunt with a sailboat stucked down at Kent Island..and nobody knows how to sail it.. so.. she wanted to sail it.. so she came asking for lessons.. She's catches on pretty fast.. and we started with some chalk talk and we got off on the water in no time! It was a whole ball of fun! Darn.. I din bring my camera out.. shame.. it would have been fun! Steve came by and got me later..
Wednesday! Committee Boat Duty!!
The kids had a slack day today.. its raining.. and Eileen dun feel like doing anything.. sHe came screaming into the Trailer asking why VCR is on and some stupid kayaking video is playing.. and sitting there.. is all the kayaking kids and their instructors with their mouth wide open.. I'm like Geez.. wat Audacity!! What the ....? ??? Anyway.. I said 'Hey!' and pointed to Dave, the instructor and she was like. oh sorry.. hehe... i thought they were all my kids.. TSK!!!
Anyway.. Dave wasn't pleased.. and he went "She needs a good spanking" when she was telling somebody that she needs this and needs that.. and when she was screaming at the kids on wednesday on how they are running arnd the whole place treating the place like they own the whole place.. he came by to throw some stuff at the rubbish bin near by and said loudly "They are just following your good example man!" I almost burst out laughing.. h aha.. it was farnee...
Oh well.. I couldn't be bothered.. I was happy to get the hell outta the place thou.. I am going for Race Committee duties on Mike Mueller's boat later!! Awesome stuff! We had so much food!!! Weather was awesome and it was just incredible!

Day 40 - Low down Crew Stealer!
Mood: Kinda Pissed..

Day started normally.. Asked Eileen what she wanna do.. and she smiles and say a buncha drills.. like DUH!! I know we are gonna do a buncha drills.. WHAT EXACTLY??!?! so she went thru some.. Anyway.. I din agree with most of what she says most of the time.. tsk.. so no diff.. it din go very well.. we had a little disagreement infront of the kids.. I din think very highly of that.
There isn't any wind.. so the kids went out.. and right back after their lunch break.. then they played.. I sat arnd.. and talk to the kids.. and it was just left with Alex.. cos he had something to ask me abt some stuff that he din underestand in his sailin book... Jules came round to pick him up. I asked if Chrissy is gonna come sailin today or is she gonna be sailin with Chrissy. cos I know she wanted to helm... so I asked if her sister got a crew? and if she wanan skipper.. I'll crew for her. since Chrissy is not arnd.. and she say no.. I'll gladly crew for you.. i'm not gonna let a better sailor crew for me.. I'm like.. its not big deal.. I'll crew for u if u wanna and if her sister, Eileen have got a crew.. next thing I know.. was Eileen storming down from across the boat park..and yelling that I'm a low down fella that goes arnd poaching other people crew.. I'm like.. what the fuck?? Man.. I swear.. if i don't have to work with her.. or anything.. I'll prolly gonna beat her up or something.. knn.. Calling me low down and crap in front of others... Bitch I swear... So I tried to explain it to her that its a case of misunderstanding, but she wouldn't listen. SO.. I held up my hands and say. Hey.. I'm just a fucking laser sailor man. I don't know ur stupid rules. I would have very much like to add that I have enuff common sense n to steal people's crew. Asked her what her sister told her.. and she couldn't answer... BITCH!!!
So..I went into the trailor.. fuming.. not exactly fuming.. I'm kinda cool abt it.. it din get to me as much as I would have thought I would.. then she came later.. and say.. MAn. we need to talk.. yeah.. of course.. then she went on about how I'm not co-operating with her.. and stuff.. and I started listing examples of what she did.. and stuff like that... and every answer was.. Yeah.. Maybe I get carried away.. and WTF!! u get carried EVERY SINGLE TIME!! She was saying that she's shouting at the kids till her voice is hoarse.. and she say that I've gotta say something.. I'm like.. well.. u are going abt at them like a machine gun.. doesn't seem like a lot of things that I can jut into.. and then when she finally stopped..I started telling a kid something.. she cut me right off. I just stopped.. and let her talk.. Since u like to hear your voice so much.. talk!!! I just sit there like a dumb assistant and let u talk! and she brought up abt that crew thingy again.. and I explained the whole thing to her.. and then she said that her sis told her that SHe'll be sailing with me tonite.. well.. in her world.. since the world revolves arnd her.. it means that she's crewing for me.. maybe dats where the misunderstanding came in.. but that is not a good reason for her to come flare up at me like that.. gees. anyway. I couldn't be bothered.. I just wanna get her outta my sight.. and as it is. I got no crew for tonite.. cos chrissy is away at an Interview thats n hr n a half away.. so.. no go.. I ended up bein asked to help out wiht race committee.. and Steve will come get me to crew with him later. we got 1st the first race.. got pushed over the line by Mike.. and we screwed up again.. cos the mainshee got caught on the boom and we couldn't depower.. sigh.. hardluck.. we ended 6th.. oh well.. Eileen was 3rd.. Mike 4th.. Dave 5th..oh well.. Tuff Luck..
Went back.. and it was cold.. and there was hot pot of Crab Soup waiting for us.. Yummy.. goot stuff!! haha.. what a way to end the night..
Thoughts of the day: Am I gettin retarded.. or have I become so cool that I don't react when people provoke me? hehe.. I wouldn't usually allow people to insult or accuse me of such things.. especially since I know that I din do any of it.... oh well..

Day 39 - Da Ultimate Party!

Blerdy alarm went off at 7... I sure could use more sleep... showered.. changed... and only to find out that we are going for late church.. tsk... why am I always the last one to know.. I WANT MORE SLEEP!! Anyway.. SUnday school was boring... can't understand what the fish the fella is trying to tell me.. I'm like. GEEZ!! We are suppose to be studyin Ephesians.. n he began rattling abt something else.. oh well.... I was falling asleep.. i woke up when I went to the gym and shot some baskets.. We din stay for service.. cos we had to rush back to prepare for the party.. its Midseasons party with the rest of the instructors.. cos Christina and Sarah will prolly not be able to join us for the end of year party.. so.. yeah! We stopped by the crab shack to Order a Brusshell of Crabs! it cost USD80 bucks.. for like 6 dozen worth of steamed crabs? They do it diffferently here.. They do it with Coarse Salt, Lotsa Old Bay, Red Pepper Flakes, and some have secret receipe of having Beer in them... and oh boy.. do they taste good or wot.. haha.. Maybe I should start something like that in singapore.. Maryland CrabS! Come TRy it today!! I neve had so many crabs in my life before!! i must have like 7 crabs or something before I call it quits.. it gets tiring... I made Egg Rolls for the guys.. made n utter mess of the kitchen when i started pan frying it.. hahaha.. i got splashed out by the oil as well.. it was horrible.. ahah.. Now I appreciate the Deep Fryer.. but it tasted surprisingly well thou. hehe.. I made about 20 over.. and I got about 4 left.. pretty good selling I suppose.. Sarah bought some Brownie.. Christina brought some Deviled Eggs and More Brownie... Jules and Chrissy brought some Coke and Coors Lite.. Lindsey brought 2 cases of Corona... goot stuff!! Hahaha… Mrs Maddox made Roast Beef.. Strawberry coated with Chocolate.. Pretzels coated with Chocolate.. Corns.. and.. it was a helluava party!
We ate our fill.. I played my CD… sat arnd and talked.. and they started throwing a Frisbee arnd.. I was on the porch talking to Katie, Christina and Sarah… Chris was going on about how close we were during the one week.. and how we are so far apart.. haven’t really got the chance to talk to each other and stuff.. Haha.. I din realize I left such a deep impression.. I din talk much really.. but well.. that was a very fun one week we had.. Anyway.. we all got drawn into a game of Ultimate Frisbee.. which was pretty awesome.. Joe, Sarah, Katie, Sam and I were in a team together.. Haha.. we just had a ball of time! I was diving all over the place! We made a few good points.. Katie wasn’t playing much.. she left early.. Jules is on the Salisbury Ultimate Frisbee Team.. so..she’s pretty good.. Chrissy played well.. Lindsey is pretty enthusiastic.. haha.. and Steve.. well.. he’s a rugby player! Haha.. we all had a ball of time.. I crashed into sarah.. and Chrissy… thank goodness they weren’t hurt.. I was diving for the Frisbee… and I flung the Frisbee Right into Sarah’s mouth.. she got a busted Lips.. drats.. I was so sorry… thank goodness it wasn’t serious.. we stopped.. drank more beer.. talk more crap..
Sam brought out his mini scrambler… and we had a go at it.. I ran right into a hole in the field..and I flipped over.. haha.. it was farnee.. I twisted out the number plate.. then Chrissy.. got on it.. and she rode it right into a fence!!! Haha.. she twisted the wheel..but thank god she was alright..
Christina and Sarah had to leave.. and we started another game of Frisbee.. this time it is more intense.. and physical.. haha.. Chrissy, Steve and myself were in the same team this time round.. and we were playing some sorta monkey.. with anther 3 in the other group.. Jules, Joe and Lindsey were a team. We played till we were soaking wet.. and we all went for a dip.. Chrissy got thrown in by steve.. and I threw Jules over.. haha.. It was farnee.. we crepted up to Steve under the jetty while he was sleeping on the top.. and we splashed water on him from below.. haha.. its pretty farnee.. we were pretty cold when we call it quits.. Got into the house.. got some warm stuff… and I had my hot cabbage soup.. man.. it was good.. They said their byes.. and all they left was good memories… We will be going camping next weekend at cunninghamfalls! So.. it’ll be cool! More pictures to come!! Cheers!
Thoughts of the day: It is a pretty bonding day.. I’m sorry I can’ t get more time with them.. But well.. at least I’ll still have 3 more weeks with them.. cheers to that!

Day 38 – Internship for a Carpenter Job
Mood of the day – Tired but Happy
Activities of the day
- Putting up Dry Walls
- Lazy Afternoon
- Making Egg Rolls!
Woke up bright and early.. I really wanna go back to bed.. but Steve asked me the previous night if I would like to follow him to work on a house and see what it is like.. They will be putting up dry walls… It sounded really interesting and fun and so I said yes! Made myself some sausages and egg and toast. Typical American breakfast.. ‘cept that most are lazy.. and they just eat cereals…. Reason why they eat cereals is because they are lazy.. kekeke.. pour and pour.. and walla.. breakfast.. so.. we went over to Home Depot first to rent a Dry Wall Lift.. u basically put this huge piece of board on it.. and then u jack it up to the wall and then u drill it in.. We got there early.. waited half n hour for the owner.. and they put me to work immediately. I am to pull out all the nails on the ceiling.. and drive any that is sticking out that cannot be pulled cos the head snapped.. in.. to make it all flat.. I din realize the importance of this step until they started drilling the walls in.. and u get a bubble.. it is caused by the unevenness of the nail behind… and the board crack.. not that it’s a big deal.. but its not perfect…. But it was fun hammering away.. and destroying the old boards.. and tearing them apart.. The owner was amazed at how fast we work.. And now I truly understand why everytime we see in the News.. during an earthquake or typhoon… the house is usually in shambles.. and like cardboard.. cos it is really like cardboard! Super flimsy.. and everything is plaster..
Finished that.. and we went home.. had hamburgers for lunch.. was trying to do my emails.. but anna and Isaac wouldn’t let me.. grrr.. I’m really slacking on my mails.. I’m just so tired. And I hate to type a half fuck letter.. cos I usually dun understand what the hell I’m trying to say.. anyway.. I finally got a few done.. in between having Isaac crawling all over me.. Anna taking my chair away.. dragging me to watch Star Wars Episode 2… and asking me to spin them arnd in the chair.. haha.. I tried to snug an eye shut.. to no avail.. Steve and Suzanne finally came back.. they got me the beer that I asked for tm’s party.. Hoegarden.. NewCastle.. and baileys.. and the ingredients for making Spring Rolls!! I’m gonna be making spring rolls for tm’s party!! It’ll be my first time doing it.. and I really duno how it will end up.. ahha.. the ironic thing is this.. I go the recipe from an Ang Moh.. haha.. I got it from Fran.. she taught me how to do it… Imagine this.. Chinese asking n Ang Moh how to do a Chinese Dish.. I should go kill myself!! Haha.. Any awy..I started on it right after dinner.. I began plucking off the heads and tails off bean sprouts.. Anna offered to chop things up for me.. I gave her the sobbing task of doing the onions.. I did the water chestnuts.. and I chopped and sliced up the Pork.. Marinate it.. stir fry it for a while.. and I did the stupidiest thing.. haha.. I’m suppose to take it out after that.. and put in the veg.. but I din.. I just throw everything in together.. haha.. lazy bum.. n I couldn’t stir it up cos the pot was so full! Anyway.. I finished up.. it smells really nice.. drained out all the juice.. saved it for tm as cabbage soup.. it is really yummy!! And put away the dishes.. and washed those that cannot fit into the dish washer.. and clean up the basin.. and I am a happy dude!! Haha.. Tried to log on and get Rhonda’s no. to call.. but the connection was off.. went to shower and came back.. finally got the number.. but the Sheraton staff was so rude!! I called…they pick up.. I told them that I’m looking for who and who.. they asked for first name.. and last name.. and without saying anything.. they just transfer.. I dun even know if there’s such a person and they are going to transfer me or wot.. but all I heard was a click.. ring.. and another click..guess whoever is on the other end of the phone lifted it up and put it back down again.. oh well.. I couldn’t get anybody to drive me to new york.. else I’ll be able to meet up my cousin there. Which would be really neat! Anyway..there’s always another time..

Finished that.. and we went home.. had hamburgers for lunch.. was trying to do my emails.. but anna and Isaac wouldn’t let me.. grrr.. I’m really slacking on my mails.. I’m just so tired. And I hate to type a half fuck letter.. cos I usually dun understand what the hell I’m trying to say.. anyway.. I finally got a few done.. in between having Isaac crawling all over me.. Anna taking my chair away.. dragging me to watch Star Wars Episode 2… and asking me to spin them arnd in the chair.. haha.. I tried to snug an eye shut.. to no avail.. Steve and Suzanne finally came back.. they got me the beer that I asked for tm’s party.. Hoegarden.. NewCastle.. and baileys.. and the ingredients for making Spring Rolls!! I’m gonna be making spring rolls for tm’s party!! It’ll be my first time doing it.. and I really duno how it will end up.. ahha.. the ironic thing is this.. I go the recipe from an Ang Moh.. haha.. I got it from Fran.. she taught me how to do it… Imagine this.. Chinese asking n Ang Moh how to do a Chinese Dish.. I should go kill myself!! Haha.. Any awy..I started on it right after dinner.. I began plucking off the heads and tails off bean sprouts.. Anna offered to chop things up for me.. I gave her the sobbing task of doing the onions.. I did the water chestnuts.. and I chopped and sliced up the Pork.. Marinate it.. stir fry it for a while.. and I did the stupidiest thing.. haha.. I’m suppose to take it out after that.. and put in the veg.. but I din.. I just throw everything in together.. haha.. lazy bum.. n I couldn’t stir it up cos the pot was so full! Anyway.. I finished up.. it smells really nice.. drained out all the juice.. saved it for tm as cabbage soup.. it is really yummy!! And put away the dishes.. and washed those that cannot fit into the dish washer.. and clean up the basin.. and I am a happy dude!! Haha.. Tried to log on and get Rhonda’s no. to call.. but the connection was off.. went to shower and came back.. finally got the number.. but the Sheraton staff was so rude!! I called…they pick up.. I told them that I’m looking for who and who.. they asked for first name.. and last name.. and without saying anything.. they just transfer.. I dun even know if there’s such a person and they are going to transfer me or wot.. but all I heard was a click.. ring.. and another click..guess whoever is on the other end of the phone lifted it up and put it back down again.. oh well.. I couldn’t get anybody to drive me to new york.. else I’ll be able to meet up my cousin there. Which would be really neat! Anyway..there’s always another time..

Day 37 - Pleasure Island

Went to the Pleasure Island today.. we decided to give the kids a break.. and allow them to take the JY15 out.. Actually..its more like Eileen feels too tired to do anything.. cos she was sleeping in the boat.. I secretly think that when she has more energy.. she'll be there shouting away.. haha.. the kids split up work.. and she was telling me that she was impressed by their teamwork.. I'm like.. yeah.. i'm the one who trained them in that.. tsktsk.. anyway.. it doesn't matter... if she wants credit for that.. so be it.. as long as the kids are cool.. dats fine.
So.. we got to pleasure island.. midway thru she decided that she wants to set up a starting and went ahead with it.. without telling the kids.. and of course.. non of them knew.. all they know was that they are suppose to race to the beach.. how typical.. anyway.. we anchored.. and went to explore the island.. we walked one big round.. she wanted to go bash arnd.. the kids din agree.. and she decided to split up. bad idea..she gave up aftera while.. and came out and joined us walkin arnd in the waters.. tsk..
We had out lunch..and the kids found out that all their lunches were switched!! ahhha.. it was farnee thou.. sailed back.. and they decided to play pirate.. and we turned it into some sorta america's cup racing.. using rules.. and stuff.. i hopped onto alex's boat and we were unbeatable! ahhaha.. we faked a tack.. and the other boat fell hook, line, sinker for it! haha! It was awesome! Eileen was sleeping on the powerboat.. tsktsk.. ehe. she was tired.. but its nice.. some peace. hahaa.. Andrew and Jeffrey capsized..and they got their mast stucked in the mud.. she din notice.. cos she was sleeping.. we got there 20 mins later.. a jetski stopped by and help.. that was nice of him.. but i told him it was ok.. manage to get it unstuck. and the game continue!! haha.. RACE ON!!
We went back happy.. the Alex and Michael decided to continue sailing.. they rigged up their opti and carried on.... I joined the rest of the instructors thru their debrief.. and the limo came early.. and I got to sit inside a Limo for the very first time in my life!! haha.. oh yes... the limo.. kids from Hartfort county got to come for sailing in a Limo.. cos the cost of a limo and a mini bus is the same..so why not a Limo? haaha.. Mike Mueller thought it was a hell of a kick! hahaa... I thought so too! Pretty Awesome!
Got back.. raised my bicycle seat post.. sam got out his mini scrambler and played arnd with it.. had dinner.. spaghetti with meatballs.. then came Bible study.. Genesis Chapt 40 i think... haha... bad memory.. nothing much to discuss in this chapter.. starred at the computer for a while later.. and i was too tired.. and went to bed.. Exhausted..

Woke up bright and early again.. had cereals for breakfast.. packed two mini hamburgers with ham.. instead of beef.. tsk..and cheese for lunch.. and a snackbar.. Eileen was running late.. She finally came.. had a nice big smile for me.. and to my surprise, she bought me coffee! Wow! I din quite expect that.. Geez.. I din see that coming.. but it was very nice of her. She got donuts also.. woo.. nice… Got the trailer.. hooked it up.. Mrs Gorman is the trailer parent today..she brought along her nephew’s fiancée.. ok.. I can’t spell that word.. but what the heck… and she’s a looker.. some lucky ass.. *laugh * Wahaha.. John U bastard!!! Anyway.. got to Bel Air rd…. Chris and Andrew was already there.. Melissa ran late.. Ross.. came early.. but went back cos his dad thought he missed us.. called his mum.. and his mum raced him down in their MX5…. Cool.
Hit a Jam along the way.. had to turn off to find an alternative route.. a nice taxi man showed us the way.. and we got on in no time. Passed by Narrows point again.. where I had my softshell crab sandwich.. Got there in time.. the kids got all the boats off the trailer.. and was helping the rest rig up their boats.. pretty good team effort I must say.. I’m impressed again.. I taught them well!! Wahahaha.. anyway.. Christopher came up to me and started groaning.. he was going.. man.. its light wind again.. I’m gonna be last! I put my arms arnd his shoulders and told him. No. u are not coming in last today. Today is not gonna be the day you come in last. Today is gonna be the day you remember what I have taught you and you will sail fast. Just stay cool. Be fast. And do exactly what I tell you to. And boy.. did he do that or wot.. he came in 2nd over all!! He din do too well on the runs and reaches.. I pulled him aside during lunch and showed him what he was doing wrong.. he went out.. and he never allowed any boats to overtake him on the reaches… and runs.. pretty awesome stuff man! I was thrilled!! I gave him a race strategy and he stuck to it.. he was 1st round the mark a coupla times! Michael came in 1st for green fleet.. followed by Chris.. Ross was 5th and Jeff was 6th..Jeff got 1st in a race.. pretty cool! He was on all smiles.. Really happy for him.
And of course with every race.. I will have my own lil tiff with Eileen on which is the favoured side of the course. And once again.. I win!! Wahahaha.. Simple pin end start.. Tack to port in clear air or when all boats tack.. go to the right handside of the course.. tack when u lay the line or when u get a big header.. stay on the left handside of the course going downwind.. and work ur way up on the left hand side of the course when u go up wind for the finish. Man.. it worked so well.. Sweet.. Alex did that.. and he got 4th for the Red fleet.. It was a good victory for him.
Michael got a lil disappointed when he din get a medal for his 1st in green fleet.. all he got was a certificate and a bubble thingy.. I really wished I could do something to make him feel better.. Anyway.. I told his mum.. and she noticed it as well and she said she’ll make it up to him.. suggested that she frame the cert up.. to which she said she was planning to.. which was sweet..
Packed up.. sent Ross and Melissa back.. Ross lost his specs on the way back.. it flew off from his face.. cos he had it on upside down.. and I just said to watch out incase he lose it.. and he turn back from outside the window.. with a big eyed look.. and his glasses was gone.. anyway.. he got into a fight with Melissa in the car.. they just kept boxing each other… geez.. I dun understand these kids.. he scratched me in the neck.. darn.. luckily no marks.. got them home.. he showed me his go cart.. and his boxing bag.. and his golden retriever.. his mum was nice as usual.
Got home exhausted.. good thing there was nice shrimp soup waiting.. man.. it was good.. Its been a long day..
Thought of the day: It felt good when the kids respond to what you teach.. and seeing the improvements.. but I feel that several kids have been stagnant… and I really hope I can help them before they are done with me.

Day 35 - Lalalala

Eileen came in today.. and she din have any idea what to do with the kids.. she threw a buncha suggestions that dun seem practical.. like throwing the kids to the summer camp and have them teach the kids??? like duh.... I suggested some stuff... but she threw it out.. then she contradicted herself.. again.. normal.. I got tired of discussing..... (bad attitude) and got out and started goofing arnd with the kids.. starting playing soccer with them.. David Bell came up to me and say.. "Man, U are good in soccer!" I was laughing away.. me? good in soccer? haha no way!!
Anyway.. she finally decided wht to do with the kids.. and frankly.. I don't care.. as long as she is happy.. Got everybody to write about their regatta's so far.. Ross came up with a speech on how he got first.. and the conclusion was.. Never follow JOhn's Advise..haha.. cos I asked him to monkey see monkey do.. if he had followed the leaders.. he wouldn't have gotten first.. but well.. dats only for the first race.. after the 1st race.. he decided dat he din need to copy others.. and he got 6th..and 8th.... oh well.. i always believe dat in copying..there's such thing called copying smartly.. keke.. Hmm.. maybe its cos the singapore government set a very good example for us.. Oh well....
Lindsey asked if I could demostrate Roll Tacking for her Advance kids... Steve asked Eileen if she was ok.. I guess she's my boss.. she said she din't care.. (how nice) and I got out! Whee!! got back to shore at 11.. and saw them launching.. I'm like.. huh? I thought she din want them to launch today.. oh well.. anyway.. got back.. told her that i'll have my lunch first.. cos they had theirs... and finished it.. talked to steve..and went out and practice starts with the kids...
We finished.. and was sailing back.. Alex sailed by the Kayak kids. and Eric, the kayak assistant took a buncha seaweed and threw it at Alex.. the rest of the kids followed suit and did that..I din think that it was very nice... Eileen saw it.. and went over and shouted at the kids.. I mean.. It was good to shout at them.. but not when the coach is standing there.. I told her afterwards that she should have more respect for him.. and she seemed kinda shocked dat I will say that to her.. Told her that it'll be difficult for him to gain the respect of his kids if she does that.... I guess I was kinda harsh the way I said it.. cos for once. she was stumped..
We started cycling back.. when Steve realise that he got a flat.. learnt from sam later... that it was David Bell that let the air out.. and Sam din tell steve.. tsk.. i thought that was dumb.. Suzanne came and got us.. and it was a mad rush from home to get to the sailing centre..
Mike / Kelly /Kemp / Betsy / Bob / Glen / Steve / Myself were on the boat.. air was very light.. abt 3 to 4 knots of wind.. doesn't do this boat good.. this performs well in 15 to 20 knots.. we watned to start on the right.. but we got there a lil too early.. and we had to sail down the line.. laid the line.. but we were last.. again. haha.. oh well..
Came back home.. and made myself chicken porridge! it was heavenly. hah.. some chinese food.. ummmmMMmm.. Got a recipe from Fran on how to make spring rolls.. ang moh style.. Wanna make some for this sunday Mid Season party for instructors!

Day 34 – Gibson Island! The rich and the super rich

Woke up at 530.. laze arnd.. got up.. ate my Egg Mayo Sandwich.. thought it was nice.. I got alittle too excited on the Mayo and Pepper.. haha.. had too much of those! Made one for Eileen as well.. thought I’ll be nice for once. Hehe.. anyway.. she was ok today.. talked… laughed.. and I did my normal almost snoozing off in the car.. I hate the music she plays.. but as I was thought by Fran… The Driver controls the Radio! Cardinal Rule of Driving in America! Fine… I just doze off.. hahaha.. Anyway.. we got there.. I found out that on the little Island.. small than Sentosa.. like Pulau Ubin perhaps? Is where there are tons of rich people staying.. They even employ their very own Police.. fit them with uniforms and guns.. and cars.. Almost every house hold owns a golf cart.. they have their own golf course… swimming pool.. Tennis courts.. and stuff..the sorts..
Got there.. Corey Mitchel was already there.. got the dinghy launched.. ran it arnd.. got the kids set up.. and there was no wind.. had to wait till 11 for the first race to start.. wind was still light.. Chris wasn’t happy.. he wants more wind.. we hung arnd the green fleet for the first race.. Ross came in a surprise 1st for that race. It was really by fluke cos the rest went on a huge header..and went far right.. He was wondering why they din tack… to which he did.. and he won! Haha.. way to go Ross!! But too bad..he got like 6th..and 8th.. for the rest of the race..haha.. he still kept himself entertained thou.. I thought that was neat..
Went over to the Red White Blue fleet and they were disappointing.. sigh.. I gave them a good scolding.. Alex went on to race 1st through the whole race.. and screw it up at the last mark.. he tacked on a header.. and went to a place where the whole fleet was coming down on him on a run.. sigh.. he lost out big on that.. and 2 boats took him.. he finished 3rd.. I hope he learnt something.. I did something really bad thou.. I showed him my middle finger.. .. wish I hadn’t had done that.. it wasn’t really nice.. but I was livid!! At how he threw that race away.
Rebecca finished 3rd in green fleet.. which was nice.. Corey finished 2nd in laser…. There were only 2 boats.. tsk.. Michael got 4th..
Got back to the sailing centre.. saw Dave and Rebecca and her parents trying to fix a car rack.. Dave was there fiddling arnd. I’m not sure for how long they were there.. but I just took out the instructions.. and followed it.. and fixed it.. and there they were.. calling up the car company.. testing this.. testing that.. I’m like.. ok.. its done.. and then dave.. took wat I did.. meddled on the car.. and say.. Hey! I’ve got it down! I’m like.. wot????? I’m the one who did that.. he went on to say.. I’ve got my Mechanical side of me working today.. “GOOD FOR U!” WAhaha.. oh well.. anyway… Rebecca’s step dad shot me a look like.. what?? Hahah.. who cares.. anyway.. it was farnee….
I got home.. and they just finished dinner.. and they had shrimps for dinner..there was some leftovers from Isaac. And he got me to try.. it was really nice.. its shrimps baked on cedar strips, seasoned with garlic / lemon pepper / old bay / chilli flakes / salt / butter.. and all of the above.. are in powder form. Hahaha… that’s Americans for u.. all preserved.. or artificial.. or dried… save time.. anyway.. Steve made me some later.. it was nice.. very nice.. and I had it with instant noodles.. and then pork chops.. darn.. speaking of all these food.. I’m getting hungry again.. sigh.. Food!!
Had my daily talk with Steve.. about what’s going on and what not.. It seems like he is pretty keen to employ me for next year as the Laser Travel Coach.. We shall see how things works out..
Thoughts of the day: Simon’s dad asked Eileen “So what is your assistant’s name?” She din change him.. and I guess that’s what I am….. sigh..

Woke up at 530.. laze arnd.. got up.. ate my Egg Mayo Sandwich.. thought it was nice.. I got alittle too excited on the Mayo and Pepper.. haha.. had too much of those! Made one for Eileen as well.. thought I’ll be nice for once. Hehe.. anyway.. she was ok today.. talked… laughed.. and I did my normal almost snoozing off in the car.. I hate the music she plays.. but as I was thought by Fran… The Driver controls the Radio! Cardinal Rule of Driving in America! Fine… I just doze off.. hahaha.. Anyway.. we got there.. I found out that on the little Island.. small than Sentosa.. like Pulau Ubin perhaps? Is where there are tons of rich people staying.. They even employ their very own Police.. fit them with uniforms and guns.. and cars.. Almost every house hold owns a golf cart.. they have their own golf course… swimming pool.. Tennis courts.. and stuff..the sorts..
Got there.. Corey Mitchel was already there.. got the dinghy launched.. ran it arnd.. got the kids set up.. and there was no wind.. had to wait till 11 for the first race to start.. wind was still light.. Chris wasn’t happy.. he wants more wind.. we hung arnd the green fleet for the first race.. Ross came in a surprise 1st for that race. It was really by fluke cos the rest went on a huge header..and went far right.. He was wondering why they din tack… to which he did.. and he won! Haha.. way to go Ross!! But too bad..he got like 6th..and 8th.. for the rest of the race..haha.. he still kept himself entertained thou.. I thought that was neat..
Went over to the Red White Blue fleet and they were disappointing.. sigh.. I gave them a good scolding.. Alex went on to race 1st through the whole race.. and screw it up at the last mark.. he tacked on a header.. and went to a place where the whole fleet was coming down on him on a run.. sigh.. he lost out big on that.. and 2 boats took him.. he finished 3rd.. I hope he learnt something.. I did something really bad thou.. I showed him my middle finger.. .. wish I hadn’t had done that.. it wasn’t really nice.. but I was livid!! At how he threw that race away.
Rebecca finished 3rd in green fleet.. which was nice.. Corey finished 2nd in laser…. There were only 2 boats.. tsk.. Michael got 4th..
Got back to the sailing centre.. saw Dave and Rebecca and her parents trying to fix a car rack.. Dave was there fiddling arnd. I’m not sure for how long they were there.. but I just took out the instructions.. and followed it.. and fixed it.. and there they were.. calling up the car company.. testing this.. testing that.. I’m like.. ok.. its done.. and then dave.. took wat I did.. meddled on the car.. and say.. Hey! I’ve got it down! I’m like.. wot????? I’m the one who did that.. he went on to say.. Day 33 - Beat the Angmohs!!

Well.. woke up bright and early.. had boring cereals for breakfast.. keke.. that hapepns when U Laze arnd the bed john.. Anyway.. packed a quick lunch.. I'm getting good at it.. and BORED OF SANDWICHES!!
Did the normal cycle there.. I'm getting really tired .. tired muscles.. and oh.. Steve told me that Eileen will be late this morning.. because she had an eye appointment that she forgot about.. oh well.. no big deal.... SO.. I get to run things my way for once! and actually teach them something! So.. I gave them 25 minutes to unload the Trailer and rig up their boat.. to which they did.. pretty impressive! they commented that that was the fastest that they've ever did that.. Then I went on to review the last race.. I was harsh on them.. telling them that it is not because they did better.. it is only because the better kids weren't there.. wahahah.. I'm such an ass.. but I've gotta make them keep trying.. they got a tendency to slack when they think that they are good.. or so I think.. Oh well..I'm a grumpy old man.. haha.. So I gotthem out to the water.. wind wasn't fantastic.. Got them to circle arnd my boat..talked them thru roll gybing and rounding the boat properly..and how to make use of the boat instead of the rudder to turn the boat... it went well with them..they learnt something.. 'cept for ross.. cos he din manage to come round my boat at all.. sigh. I want more time with him.
Got in.. had lunch.. Eileen went off to cut up sail ties for Melissa... 'cept that melissa commented that they are all of a different length.. keke I showed them Wind.. some part that I would like them to see.. and just as I was about to leave.. Jeff's dad showed up in his truck. with an Optimist for Jeff!! Man.. its awesome.. itsa 98 Vanguard.. but it was very well kept... he got it for 1400.. I thought it was a pretty good deal... Anyway. we cycled home.. had pork chops for dinner.. I thought it was very nice.. then Steve and I went to race..
I told Mike earlier that I'll beat him today.. and told steve that I'll beat him too! hahah wot arrogance!! I sneaked a candy bar for Chrissy.. who was gonna be my crew for the day.. cos I knew she haven't had dinner yet.. A hungry crew is not gonna be a very good crew.. haha.. but basically.. I know it sucks to be hungry.. She was already rigging up a boat when I got there.. we finished up.. launched.. and sailed upwind to check it out.. she proposed a way to do roll tack.. to get in sync with the crew.. the counting method.. i thought that was pretty neat. it worked pretty well.. we got some neat roll tacks down.. well.. we got 2nd overall.. 5 races.. 12 boats.. we came in 2 / 2 / 2 / 4 / 3 respectively.. I felt like being n ass dat day.. and kinda arrogant.. so.. yeah.. Chrissy and I sailed well.. she is a very very good crew.. very patient.. very willing to learn.. and.. she's fun! in the 2nd race or something... Eileen was 4th.. she saild up.. i was chatting with Chrissy.. she saw her best friend, Jules, Eileen's sister and gave her a V! for 2 and victory! haha.. Eileen saw that.. and she went.. 'MAn, I'm telling u, U were pinching!' and I'm like.. er.. maybe I was..but I think I had better boat speed still... cos I remember very clearly dat I was on top of her. and I covered her.. haha... so she said NO! U din have better boat speed.. I'm like ok.. fine.. Well. I think I just came in 2nd in that race.. and where were u??? ?WAhahah! Big kick.. but i bet she's gonna come at me tm. haha.. hard time!! WATch OUT JOHn! Mummy say not to piss girls off! Anyway.. we had a big kick outta it.. she din wanna talk to me after that. hehe... oh well.. anyway.. I beat dave. I beat Eileen.. I beat steve and Mike.. man. it felt good.. but honestly.. I think I was just lucky.. i din sail very well.. I missed out on alot of stuffs and made alot of mistakes.. oh well.. I guess the rest din capitalise on it..

I should have match raced the first boat.. darnit.. it would have been more fun. hehe. maybe I should do it next time..
Melissa's dad came up to me and said that Hey! U guys actually taught her something.. I thought tat was pretty neat.. it is nice to know that the msg is getting across..
thoughts of the day: I had this rivalry among Eileen and I.. to constantly prove who is better... I would have liked it if there was more friendliness to it.. rather than a constant struggle to see who is right and who is better.. i hate the feeling.. i just want peace..

Day 32 – Roll Tacking Away!

Woke up bright and early for church.. turns out that they decided to go for the later session at 1130… *sigh* dat means I woke up early for nothing.. and I’ve changed and all that.. couldn’t go back to sleep.. sigh… I needed the sleep badly..
Anna made waffles… it was really nice.. I had a big huge stack of them! Haha.. sorry no picture to show for this.. We are gonna go to a new church today!! Whee!! Pull up a lil late at the church.. I can’t remember what it is call.. but it is slightly closer.. by 10 minutes.. and not as posh as Valley Presbyterian Church.. It was kinda packed.. and the sermon was really interesting.. Its about the choice and use of words in the bible..and how confusing it was.. or at least that’s what I got outta it..i’m sure it is really something thing else.. but it was farnee.. The pastor was going abt a huge range of words.. and how it has no meaning to it.. like.. why do we call Hamburgers.. when there isn’t any Ham in it?? And a whole lot of others which I can’t remember.. I had a good time laughing.. he was entertaining.. Learn later that the normal pastor is on leave. And this one.. was retired..and he was specially invited back to give a sermon and dat is why there are so many people there.. They also brought special attention to two guys who joined the military.. and they got a huge round of applause for that.. I’m like.. duh. Its only the military.. they turned up in their uniforms.. looking really smart and all..and they got a whole buncha people talking to them after that.. Oh well..Americans.. it seems like a big thing to be in the service here…
Anyway.. after that.. we got home.. had lunch.. I took a nap.. was really tired.. then cycled down with steve to the sailing centre.. He went for the adult learn to sail program to help out.. and I took n Xcite out.. Saw Melissa and her bro jack and her mum there… they were waxing her boat.. nice.. I took them out to sail.. she took n Xcite out with her bro.. they were practicing capsizing…. I hung arnd.. when they left.. I decided to practice on my leeward mark rounding.. I did alright.. and some roll tacking.. I really got into the groove of the Roll Tacking… I was trying some stuff out from the Opti DVD dat Tom Coleman showed us.. I thought that was pretty awesome.. I went back.. Steve got me to help out with the program.. cos they were running outta instructor.. I got Michael and Joy for the first pair..they did alright.. I send them off.. then I got Mary and Ted.. whose name is really john.. but he likes to be called Ted.. now.. they are really heavy size… and she wasn’t really being nice about it.. cos she wanna get out.. but I was slow.. and showing them stuff. And then they realized that it was better that way.. and they appreciated the way I teach..and they asked if I’ll be arnd next week. I forgot to tell them that I have a party next Sunday.. oh well.. Shall see how it goes.. It was nice to be appreciated.. and know that the way I teach was getting across to them…
Cycled home after that.. It was nice and cold.. had to pedal really hard to get the body warm.. Stopped by Food Lion to get Hot Fudge and Chocolate ice cream for Anna cos she wanted them to go with her chocolate cake with chocolate sprinkles and chocolate chips in it.. sounds like chocolate overdose to me.. but man.. was it good or wot..MMMmmmMmm
Sleeping early today.. Tired out… Its Monday tm… no race….. Not sure what Eileen is planning.. as usual…

Day 31 – Corn-Y Day!

Woke up bright and early today.. at 8 o’clock…. Considering the fact that I’ve only had like 7 hrs of sleep the past two days.. and sleeping at 11 last night.. I would have thought I’ll zonk out till like 10 or something? But no.. my faithful (read buay zhi dong) body clock wakes me up after 9 hrs of sleep…. Sigh.. not my day… Anyway.. got up.. saw Steve, talked abit.. about the graduation yesterday.. and how my kids do yesterday.. Gossip alittle.. and he told me that he will be going to pick Sam from the airport.. and then go for corn roast at the sailing centre. I told him that I’ll cycle there myself.. I’ve gotta exercise.. I see a belly coming up!! Horrible!!
Got to the sailing centre.. Saw Terry…. Talked to her abit.. and noticed a guy working on Ross’s opti.. Turns out that the guy name is Fran.. hmm.. I’m not sure how it is spelt.. but I would spell it as Fran.. Dave was there too… told me that he does one of the best repair work arnd.. It certainly seem that he knows what he is doing.. But I was kinda disappointed at the finish.. I would have liked to have a nice gel coat finish.. instead they used a glass finish.. which wasn’t bad.. I mean.. It was smooth and all.. but it sure could use some white.. instead of showing thru and showing the crack..its not very elegant.. I’ve gotta go learn how to do it.. and practice is.. so hopefully I can repair it myself.. Really.. all sailors should know how to do their own Fibreglass repair work..
Anyway.. Let me explain how this corn roast thingy work.. U dip the whole ear of corn in water.. soak it.. and then put it on the grill.. basically.. BBQ it.. without the sauce.. tsktsk.. the breed of corn.. is the premium type.. it is not the white..it is not the yellow.. it’s the bastardized version of it.. there’s some atah sikeh name for it.. but I can’t remember.. anyway.. it’s the juiciest of the lot. So.. it is soaked wet.. u bbq it.. then u dip it in water again to cool it off.. then u pour butter and salt on it.. and ittish.. da best.. Uummmmmm.. but of course.. Ang mohs got a way of making everything sound so nice… its just corn.. dun be stupid.. how nice could it get?? Tsk tsk.. anyway.. for the sake of people that are reading and have not had a chance to try it?? Man… DAT CORN ROCKS!! Salivates WooHOo!!!
The two GArretts were there.. Eric was there.. Danny was there.. William was there.. another kid was there.. I can’t remember his name.. his sister was suppose to join the opti.. but she injured her leg.. sigh.. too bad.. she would have caught on pretty fast.. she forgot quite abit. But she learns fast.. Anyway.. I had a corn.. 2 hotdogs.. A storm threatened to come.. and we gotta hussle the people off the island in a hurry.. It din hit. Just some light showers.. pity.. Melissa was back at the centre trying to sail an Xcite.. but wasn’t able to due to the storm..
Dinner was hamburger.. and I went to cycle arnd with SAM to explore the place.. we got chased by dogs.. had a race with a dog.. n we won! Haha.. went to Essex Airplane strip.. it was nice…. There’s a car there.. with 2 guys and a girl.. she shouted ‘BYE’ when they left.. and they stopped further up front at a building.. we cycled by.. saw her.. and it was our turn to shout ‘BYE’ haha.. stupid.. but it was fun..
There’s an Arts fest happening downtown.. Eileen was suppose to call.. but she din.. I guess I was out.. oh well.. heehee.. too bad.. it would have been fun thou.. but some how or rather..i can’t bring myself to smile a lot arnd her. Haha.. weird.. Anyway.. my thighs are tired.. but I wanan do an hour of biking at least per day. To prevent the muscles from slacking too much..
Thought of the day: Still thinking about the jobs avail.. and trying to apply for it.. is that what I really want???????? Heck.. I think it never hurts to try.

I’ve gotta go learn how to do it.. and practice is.. so hopefully I can repair it myself.. Really.. all sailors should know how to do their own Fibreglass repair work..
Anyway.. Let me explain how this corn roast thingy work.. U dip the whole ear of corn in water.. soak it.. and then put it on the grill.. basically.. BBQ it.. without the sauce.. tsktsk.. the breed of corn.. is the premium type.. it is not the white..it is not the yellow.. it’s the bastardized version of it.. there’s some atah sikeh name for it.. but I can’t remember.. anyway.. it’s the juiciest of the lot. So.. it is soaked wet.. u bbq it.. then u dip it in water again to cool it off.. then u pour butter and salt on it.. and ittish.. da best.. Uummmmmm.. but of course.. Ang mohs got a way of making everything sound so nice… its just corn.. dun be stupid.. how nice could it get?? Tsk tsk.. anyway.. for the sake of people that are reading and have not had a chance to try it?? Man… DAT CORN ROCKS!! Salivates WooHOo!!!
The two GArretts were there.. Eric was there.. Danny was there.. William was there.. another kid was there.. I can’t remember his name.. his sister was suppose to join the opti.. but she injured her leg.. sigh.. too bad.. she would have caught on pretty fast.. she forgot quite abit. But she learns fast.. Anyway.. I had a corn.. 2 hotdogs.. A storm threatened to come.. and we gotta hussle the people off the island in a hurry.. It din hit. Just some light showers.. pity.. Melissa was back at the centre trying to sail an Xcite.. but wasn’t able to due to the storm..
Dinner was hamburger.. and I went to cycle arnd with SAM to explore the place.. we got chased by dogs.. had a race with a dog.. n we won! Haha.. went to Essex Airplane strip.. it was nice…. There’s a car there.. with 2 guys and a girl.. she shouted ‘BYE’ when they left.. and they stopped further up front at a building.. we cycled by.. saw her.. and it was our turn to shout ‘BYE’ haha.. stupid.. but it was fun..
There’s an Arts fest happening downtown.. Eileen was suppose to call.. but she din.. I guess I was out.. oh well.. heehee.. too bad.. it would have been fun thou.. but some how or rather..i can’t bring myself to smile a lot arnd her. Haha.. weird.. Anyway.. my thighs are tired.. but I wanan do an hour of biking at least per day. To prevent the muscles from slacking too much..
Thought of the day: Still thinking about the jobs avail.. and trying to apply for it.. is that what I really want???????? Heck.. I think it never hurts to try.

Day 28 – Screwed up Tactician

Had a talk with the kids today.. find out about what they think of their performance for the race yesterday and the day before yesterday…. Their thoughts and feelings… I called Andrew for being too complacent.. he seemed a little downcast by that… He doesn’t know the meaning of that thou.. bet he’ll be pulling out his dictionary the first minute he reach home… I hope he din lose his assertiveness thou.. it was in good thoughts that it was done. I explained to them that they are wasting a lot of time.. and asked if they felt like they’ve improved the last two weeks.. they said no.. and I said.. Damn right! I felt that the last two weeks for them was a total waste of time! so I told them abt the international standards…what the kids are doing in other places to get them where they are.. and what they should be doing.. I broke their time down.. and make them realize that they are indeed wasting a lot of time and really they should be getting more out of it. I told them that they need to be more agile.. and fitter inorder to fight till the finish.. Then I introduced a set of exercise to them.. and made them do it. I did wall squats together with them during the last leg. I’m surprised that I was able to hold it for so long.. I guess the cycling helped.. They groaned.. but they all went thru it.. felt better after that.. cos they were able to play ultimate Frisbee.. I went on to analyse the race for them yesterday.. and Eileen took over halfway.. I guess she couldn’t stand not being heard.. either that or she thinks I’m doing it totally wrong.. oh well.. who cares… if she wants to run it.. she can.. BUT I JUST CAN’T STAND WATCHING THE WHOLE 6 WEEKS GO TO WASTE!!!! arGH!! Anyway.. We had lunch.. went out for race together with the Intermediate kids.. and Advance kids in the Xcites.. Eileen predictably rigged up an Xcite to sail and she told me only when I ask if she was gonna sail… she was just training for the Xcite nationals.. that sneaky girl.. she went off all the way almost to Hart Miller Island.. and all the kids went with her.. I’m like.. wtf.. she knew the race course isn’t so far out.. and without a powerboat.. she still wanna go so far?? She’s the one that bitches about if there isn’t a powerboat on the water with the engine running.. no boats are allowed to launch.. but yet she did.. Man.. it sucks.. I hate double standards..
Anyway.. they heard thunder.. and saw lightning..and they got everybody in before the race even got started.. Eileen capsized.. and apparently she turtled.. and got her mast stuck in the mud.. cos it came up muddy.. Lindsey asked if she turtled.. and Eileen said no.. and say some how.. the mud got churned up and they stuck onto the mast and sail. I’m like. DUH!!! WTF!! Anyway.. I couldn’t be bothered.. but it made a good laugh.. I mean.. it’s the amount of confidence that all these ang mohs have of themselves.. sometimes.. too full of it… Geez..she can find an excuse like that.. Champion!
Anyway.. we called the whole afternoon off.. I found it a waste of time. we should have brought the boats out again then the storm blew past us.. Oh.. chrissi lost Nick’s specs..poor kid. It was accidental..
We went home.. I helped Chrissy recover her lost 3 bucks.. it was near her car.. on the ground. We reached home.. talked abit..snacked abit.. went to check the crab pots.. fill it up with bait.. got a dead fish hang out halfway.. got a dead crab inside that apparently died because of hunger.. sigh.. too bad we din give that one food..

Wind was shifty.. big huge shifts… I couldn’t quite grasp a pattern of it.. I’m appointed tactician since last week.. cos they figured I like to talk.. and I do make some sense when I talk.. and I seem to like calling out tactics.. But I was slow to call at the start.. cos the wind shifted again.. we still started on the pin end.. on the starboard.. we were good on the line.. but Liquid tension came up and sat on us.. I couldn’t figure out why we were caught.. and not pointing as high..and losing ground.. I thought abt it after the race..and decided that it was the jib traveler..during the race I noticed that the shape was weird.. but it din occurred to me that it was set wrong. Darnit. I should have made the call… .I’m not very sure of translating the numbers.. I have to call when I’m in the middle of the line to tell which is biased.. too used to sailing a Laser.. I miss my laser.. I duno which side to call the Spinnaker on too.. I suck at downwind with spinnaker.. I need to go read up more on it.. I also din call a header the last beat up..I saw the clouds coming.. I made a comment that we might get a header on the right.. But I din call for the boat to head up further..so that we din have to tack anymore.. Sigh.. I sailed right into that.. wat a moron.. Sigh.. Mike was ok with it.. but I felt bad.. First day at ‘work’ and I screwed it up..

Well.. it is what we have been waiting for.. its the Junior Olympics.. the biggest event.. and we only have 2 weeks to train for.. and i've to train kids that can't sail for nuts to race.. sigh.. Anyway.. Eileen came and pick up at 520 in the morning... i din hear her car pull up.. she was knocking at the door.. oh wella.. i finished up on my cereals.. We got to the sailing centre.. there was some problem with hooking up the trollies.. Alex's mum was there to pull the big trolly.. while we got the powerboat one.. Got to Belair where the kids are supposed to be waiting for us.. but apparently.. they got tired of waiting for us and they went on to the regatta by themself.. Eileen was kicking up a big fuss about that.. oh well.. normal.. she ain't in a very admirable mood dat that.. but then again.. when is she ever? she got a fuse this short " " see it? nope? there.. point.. haha.. i'm mean today.. anyway.. we got there.. do up the boat.... the kids liked the wind indicators that Steve and I made.. so dats coool.. was going abt trying to get their sails set right.. got it down.. got it set for Eileen to go out with the red white blue fleet.. and I will stay with the green fleet.. Tom Coleman is the guy who is giving the talk to the Green Fleet. He is named 'Mr Optimist' just cos he is so involved in Optimist.. he is the optimist national coach.. and he works for Mclaughlin.. one of the best boat builder right now.. for optimist.. oh well.. i beg to differ on that one.. Eileen thinks they are the best.. i mean.. they are good.. but not the best.. its the sailor that make the boat look good..
ANyway.. the race started finally.. Veronica did well generally.. but she made some big mistakes that costs her the race.. she got 1st in the 2nd race thou.. she got 3rd overall.. Rebecca did 7th. Chris got 11th.. Ross did pretty decently i felt.. at least he din cry. haha.. Anyway.. over on the red white blue fleet.. Alex, Andrew and Melissa din do very well.. Eileen was kinda disappointed by their performances... but frankly..i'm not surprised.. Judging from their standards.. its surprising how Eileen can imagine them doing pretty well and how they could actually beat the CBOt team.. but thank god.. this experience have restored alittle of my faith in America's sailing prowess.. haha.. I'm sure the top few kids in singapore will beat them flat.. but.. then again.. they only train during the summer... or at least most of them do..

Day 25 - Sabbath Day

Woke at up 7... laze arnd the bed till 720.. Finally manage to drag myself out to the shower.. changed.. did the hair.. hair getting long.. hai.. either grow it out.. and look weird.. or pay money to get it cut.. n i think ang moh can't cut asians hair.. hmm.. go skin head? now dats a thought... anyway.. cereals for breakfast.. help!! I'm running outta ideas!!! SomeBODY!! Some Recipes!!
Church was ok.. i was sleepy.. kinda fell asleep during the sermon.. its back to the boring pastor.. he is better today.. but still.. not dat good... boring boring boring.. i prefer more people.. at least the singing of hymns are more energetic.. I need to visit a black as in african american church.. on Tv.. they have wonderful choirs.. can't see anybody that can bring me there thou.. sigh..
Anyway.. we had a talk on american poverty for sunday school.. more boring stuff.. i got 5 outta 10 for their questionaire.. not bad for a non american.. anyway.. got back home.. Anna went for a party at Nancy's.. we had chicken for lunch.. nicely done.. with mashed potatoes with salsa and sour cream.. yummy ..
Went to the sailing centre to bring the water bottles for the water dispenser.. saw mike there.. talked abit.. he passed me a copy of new york times.. on outsourcing for Camp Counsellors.. they stated the avg pay..i think i'm way over the wage scale.. i'm spoilt.. never gonna take anything less after that.. anyway.. The possibility of me coming back again next year came up again.. i'm not sure what i'm gonna do for 9 months thou.. go for reservist in South Africa again? heh.. or Coach the TPJC team.. Tuff Choice.. hmm.. I have yet to send in deferment letter.. oh yes. i need a blerdy phonecard to call home as well.. need to get that soon.. I keep forgetting..
Taught two ladies to rig up the JY15.. Steve had a talk wiht one of the ladies at the entrance to the park..and she told him that she want to do a cover story on the Travel Team.. Cool.. I'll be featured! hahaha.. in messy hair n all.. not very cool.. But.. it'll look good on the resume thou! haha..but then again.. the best will be dat my kids win big! dats the only way to do it! I hope I can get them up there.. I hope that christina recovers... Else I might be transfered over to the Summer Camp.. sigh.. I dun want that.. Much as working with Eileen might be tuff.. as we have our different views on stuff.. I hope to coach a racing team..
GOt home.. Drove in STeve's Open top convertible again... yesterday was the first time.. pretty neat.. and we set about makin burgee.. Steve came up with n idea on how to make it.. it worked pretty well.. Am doing them for the kids... hope it works and hope they like them... If i have a fabric marker i'll prolly write their name on it.. but.. prolly not.. cos i don't have it for all 10 of them.. I might make them one each.. with their name on it before i leave.. dat'll be neat.. with their name on.. for the staff.. remind me pls..

I made instant noodles with sliced beef for dinner cos Suzanne is not cooking.. they having ice cream for dinner.. haha.. I was getting hungry!! Suzanne went out for groceries.. I saw this super nice Tiller Extension in the Layline Catelogue... JCD Tiller Extension.. cost 142.85 USD.. man.. sweet jesus.. can buy two of Acme.. bUt it look so good!! KEvlar Coated!! *Whistle* I wish somebody could buy that for my birthday present... hmm... haha idea.. anyway.. i sold my laser.. a wee bit of regret.. but nahmind.. i'm sure i can find one easily arnd when I get back. They have some niec looking Black Magic over at Pasta Fresca.. Hopefully they aren't too ex..
Got a nice ecard from Christina.. Msged her on AIm.. but she was out.. dat means she's feeling better already.. dats good! Maybe I won't have to get transferred to sailing camp! haha.. and can get to see her again! yay!

Day 24 - Sarah's Grad Party!

Activities of the day
- Grandpa's Double Yolker!
- Sarah's Graduation Party
- Home Depot / Walmart
Woke up at 830.. still pretty tired.. slept at 2 last nite.. made breakfast.. French TOast and Bagel with Sour Cream and Cheese..Nice.. Grandpa made some poarched eggs.. and he had a double yolker! Man.. the possibility of that on a small egg.. I hunged arnd the computer.. Steve came back from running his errands.. We went for Sarah's party at North Point sTate Park.. we had to pay 3 bucks for entry.. bugger.. learnt that if we told hiim that we are going to sarah's party.. we wouldnt' have to.. SIgh.. anyway.. Steve picked up a case of Samuel Adam's Summer's Ale.. its good.. I had a bottle of SMirnoff Cranberry.. Samual Adam's Cream Stout.. Corona.. MmmmmMMm.. good stuff! Then lunch.. it is fabulous! Shaved Beef.. Ribs.. Chicken.. salad.. Pineapples with Strawberry.. The works!! was stuffed.. Lindsey was there too.. she's going mountain biking after.. I would have joined her if i had a mountain bike with a front suspension.. I would have joined her even if i had to use sam's bike.. I'm no crazy about using suspensions.. no big deal.. just stand up on the pedals.. Anyway.. Party was great.. Saw Sarah and Ashley there.. din manage to talk to them thou.. Ashley looked much prettier today. wahahaha.. Weather was beautiful.. Sarah's dad, Steve, told us abt the Force 5 dat he did up.. seems swell..
5 oclock came.. and we had to say our byes.. Sarah have an after party party.. that I would have liked to go..but.. since i'm with steve... I dun think its very nice to leave him going back alone.. I know he wouldn't mind. but.. its just not nice.. there goes my chance for an american house party.. next time.. haha. dun think there's a next time anyway..
WAnted to make my kids a Wind INdicator.. went to Home Depot to look for STainless STeel Rods..but they don't have them.. Went to Walmart to look for Skewers.. can't find them.. ended up with wooden sticks instead.. guess they'll have to do.. Wanted to get Gatorade mix for the kids.. but its kinda ex.. steve say its not worth it.. It'll prolly not be appreciated.. so.. I dun care.. I'm Too full for dinner when I get back.. bet i'll regret that later.. but.. oh well.. there's always food arnd the house.. Typed a 1706 words diary for yesterday.. played "Horse Show" with Anna.. I won! haha. first time lucky!
Thats it for today.. time for bed.. Church tomorrow.. Might go sailing on Steve's boat.. He's talking abt bringing me to the Maritime Museum.. and a Grape Vineyard that they use to volunteer on.. Cool.. shall see how it goes.. Wahahaha..
Thoughts of the day: I think i'm gonna go back this summer with alot of regrets on things I should have done.. Shall try to avoid that. I hate that feeling and the what if's..
