Day 5 - First Day

Woke up 0630

Took a shower, went down for breakfast.. Anna was very sweet.. she made me pancakes! They taste delicious.. yummy! Made with love! haahaha.. Sam packed lunch for me for afternoon.. We are gonna have grilled Hamburgers! YAy! Met the rest of the instructors.. Finally there are some cute ones arnd.. FINALLY!! ahah.. There's Katie.. this blonde girl.. that has nice big blue eyes... she's kinda cool looking.. she came in with a neon yellow fleece top.. but she talks like kinda bimbo.. then there's this other girl called darn.. i can't remember her name.. Krissy i think.. she's got dark brown hair..and nice attractive eyes.. she's alright.. she likes to fold her sleeves alot thou.. she does a nice smile. haha.. I'm gonna be a floater today.. or so I thought.. cos the Travel Opti Team does not start till next week.. They've gotta accomodate to dear Eileen... who happens to be Dave's daughter.. Dave holds the money strings at the club.. he sits at the board of committee.. well... he goes out of his way to please his daugthers.. The biggie.. Junior Olympics is on the 12th and 13th of July.. and they are gonna start trainig only two weeks before.. thats just enough for me to run them ragged.. oh well.. shall see.. play it by the ear..

ANyway.. the campers came.. we went thru with the swimming test..and such.. I came up with the bright idea of using a sorting hat to sort the sailors to different groups like beginners, intermediate... etc... we thought using a bucket would be cool. haha.. It was kinda hilarious.. got the kids going.. but there was 36 kids.. I guess it became kinda draggy.. Alex, one of the campers, came up to me and told me that he liked my idea.. (Steve introduce it as something I brought from Singapore) so that was nice.. We, Singaporeans gotta learn how to praise people sometimes. u guys reckon??

Anyway.. I was assigned to Christina to help out with the Advance team.. Which I am quite cool with.. We took the boats out.. n I took n Xcite to lead them.. as with Steve's suggestion.. Christina and Sam is out on the Chase boat.. The wind was blowing about 10 - 12 knots.. and and Chris wanna move the course further into the shore.. so she needed some help..and I brought them on a follow the leader.. Which was pretty cool... they manage to get into a single straight line! then we did capsize drill... and some sraight line speed.. Eric and Garrett managed to do a dry walk over! they were pleased!

AFter debrief.. Mike Mueller took me to West Marine.. and Boat Usa.. we din manage to get anything.. But I think I would go back to Boat Uas? cos they have some nice gloves of GIll that seems pretty cheap! I'll definitly get somebody to send me back there. hehe.. Anyway.. Mike took me back to the sailing centre for the Monday Night rAces... wind was blowing a good 15 knots.. and we were out.. I was sailinm with STeve.. But the race was cancelled.. cos some fella chickened out and sail back.. sigh.. Steve wanted to hand the helm to me.. But for some strange reason I din't take it. haha I certainly wasn't scared to take it.. I just din feel like sailing it.. strange feeling.. oh well.. HE was taunting me.. saying that I'm too chicken to sail. haha.. oh well.. watever.. as long as i know I am not. hehee.. So.. after the race.. I was introduced to Craig's daughter.. Can't remember her name thou.. only remembers she has a white bowtie on her hair..and she wears pink bracers.. or rather bracers with pink rubber.. oh well. who cares.. heck.

So.. after cleaning up.. Steve told me that we will be going over to his mothers.. cos it is his brother's birthday today.. Cool! I get to celebrate somebody's birthday in aMerica! We had some dinner..and after that we had pressie opening.. and then cake cutting.. the traditional american cake.. with icing on it? then here comes the best part.. They had 9 Tubs of Ice cReam!!! Goodness! All sort of flavourS!! goodness! Its Soooo GOOOoD!!! *whistle* then after that.. Dan, STeve's brother, brought out a glass bottle with a cork in it.. Turns out that it was one of the wine that Steve tried to make?.. So.. yeah.. goodness.. They just try doing alot of things don't they? So after the meal and birthday parties.. oh.. another thing.. the presents? most of them are cheap.. its the thought that counts.
